Comp Team Videos - sent Friday 14th August 9:00am

Hi Encore Comp Team Families,

We are SO excited to share that our recent competition stage performance videos are now ready to watch and share!

We are incredibly proud of all of our Encore Comp Team dancers and absolutely loved seeing them take the stage. It’s so special to now be able to share these performances with our wider Encore community, family and friends.

WATCH OUR COMPETITION VIDEOS

Click the YouTube link below to head over to our competition videos and relive all of those amazing stage moments:

Please feel free to share the videos with family and friends and celebrate all the hard work our dancers have put into their routines!

AURA INTERMEDIATE COMP TEAM

Unfortunately, we were unable to share the Aura Intermediate Comp Team routine through our YouTube platform. We definitely didn’t want them to miss out, so we have uploaded their performance separately as a Dropbox video file.

A LITTLE FEEDBACK FROM MISS KATE

When you sit down to watch the videos with your dancer, I wanted to share some overall feedback across ALL of our Comp Teams — and a few things you can encourage and practise at home as we prepare for Noosa.

Firstly, PERFORMANCE QUALITY! This is the thing I am most proud of across every single team.

As dancers, we train to give everything our absolute best shot and to perform with total confidence. One of my favourite things when watching these videos back is seeing how our dancers handle those little moments they may personally consider a “mistake”. They cover them with a HUGE smile, a little improvised flair and continue performing as though nothing happened.

Please celebrate this with your kids!

Being able to recover from something not going exactly to plan, remain confident and turn that moment into entertainment is an incredible performance skill — but I also think it is an incredibly important life skill for our kids. Things won't always go perfectly, and learning to recover, adapt and keep going confidently is something I am incredibly proud to see developing in our dancers.

OUR BIG HOMEWORK: RUNNING!

Across all studios and teams, this is something I would love EVERY dancer to work on before Noosa.

When running in routines, we want to see dancers running high on their demi-pointe, with stretched knees and legs as straight and extended as possible. We don't want our running transitions to become casual or heavy — they are still part of the choreography and performance!

This is something everyone can easily practise at home. Even a few minutes concentrating on beautiful, elevated, straight-legged runs will help.

This will be particularly important heading into Noosa Eisteddfod, where we are stepping into a much larger competition and can expect the adjudicator to be looking for a higher standard of technique and execution. So let's polish those little details!

And finally...

ENERGY & COMMITMENT = 11/10!

Every team absolutely committed to their routines. The energy, personality, confidence and PIZAZZ on stage were fantastic, and I am so proud of what our dancers are bringing to their performances.

So when you're watching these videos together, please make the biggest conversation at home about everything they did WELL. Celebrate their confidence, their recovery, their teamwork and their willingness to get on that stage and give it everything they've got.

Then we keep training, keep polishing those technical details and head into Noosa ready to take another step forward!

NEXT STOP — NOOSA EISTEDDFOD!

Keep training hard in classes, Comp Team!

Noosa will be a much larger competition with a higher standard of competition, and we are really excited for our dancers to have this next experience together.

We are aiming to have arrival times confirmed and sent to families by next week, so please keep an eye on your emails for those details.

For now — watch those videos, celebrate those kids, practise those beautiful runs and keep bringing that Encore energy!

We cannot wait to see everyone back on stage.

So proud of you all!
