Encore is split into TWO separate concerts.

SHOW ONE = Aura Studio and Moffat Beach Studio.

SHOW TWO = Kawana Studio.

We do this to keep the length of the shows to a minimum, thus for the students and audience’s benefit. It also gives students a chance to come and watch the other show.

SHOW ONE = Arrive 12:00pm, Show commences 1:00pm, approx. finish time 3:00pm.

SHOW TWO = Arrive 4:00pm, Show commences 5:00pm, approx. finish time 7:00pm.

Event Venue: Matthew Flinders Anglican Collage (Flinders Performance Centre)

Address: 1-47 Stringybark Rd Buderim QLD 4556

The concert is an exciting time for students and teachers. It is what all students work towards throughout the year to showcase their talents to family and friends on the big stage. Please take the time to carefully read the following information about the show to help things run smoothly.

Rehearsal Day: Sunday 30th November 2025

SHOW ONE (Aura & Moffat) = Arrive 7:30am, Pick up 10:00am

Compulsory Rehearsal Day - Sunday 30th November.

We are holding one big, closed rehearsal at the Flinders Performance Centre in Buderim. No audience, no parents. Just the students, teachers, and staff for a full-Dress Rehearsal / Technical Rehearsal / Complete Concert run through.

Students need to be dropped off in their first costume with everything they need for the show. Please pack some snacks and water bottles only.

Every student must attend. This is very important. It is our only chance to practise what will happen on the day. You must pretend it is the actual concert day. Full make up, hair and costumes are required.

Students will arrive sharp at the allocated times. The curtain waits for no one.

Rehearsal Time: SHOW ONE (Aura & Moffat) = Arrive 7:30am, Pick up 10:00am

Rehearsal Time: SHOW TWO (Kawana) = Arrive 10:30am, Pick up 1:00pm

Parents, please sign in your child at their assigned dressing room door and pick up from the same door. Explain to your child that they’ll stay in a dressing room with their dancing friends and Encore teachers throughout the rehearsal. They will perform on stage for a full practice and then return to their dressing rooms.

Term Fees & Costume Payments

As you know (from our fee structure on the website), costumes for the end of year show are paid off throughout the year. These payments are spread out throughout the terms to help parents budget and so costumes can be designed, created, and delivered in a timely manner. No costumes will be handed out until all accounts are settled.

Invoice Structure

Term 1 Invoice + $20 enrolment fee

Term 2 Invoice + Costume Deposits $40 per costume (ex GST)

Term 3 Invoice + Costume Balance $35 per costume (ex GST)

Costumes

Each class dance has a different costume designed to suit the routine. Costumes will only be handed out once all accounts are settled. Please keep this in mind if you are on payment plans. We don’t want to be in a position of handing out costumes to your child moments before the rehearsal day or concert day. Your prompt payments are appreciated.

Concert Video & Trophy

Every family will receive the show digitally recorded by professionals in USB format; we had received many requests for a hard copy of the concert video, and this is the best way to distribute in a cost- effective way for families. Each student is also presented with a trophy to take home for participating in the show!

Photos

The entire show is photographed professionally. Please register your email address via the link HERE.

When the gallery is ready, you will then receive a link (by the photography company) to be able to view and download photos. If you do not register now, you will not receive a viewing link post show.

Makeup

For our upcoming concert, stage makeup is essential to ensure dancers' facial features and expressions are clearly visible under professional theatre lighting, which can significantly wash out their faces. Here's a step-by-step guide for applying concert makeup:

1. Foundation: Apply an even layer of foundation to create a smooth, consistent base.

2. Blush: Use a heavy red blush along the cheekbone to enhance the face's natural contours.

3. Lipstick: Apply bright red lipstick for a bold look that stands out on stage.

4. Eyeshadow: Start with a dark brown eyeshadow on the eyelid and gradually lighten to a cream shade under the eyebrow.

5. Brows: Define the eyebrows using a brow liner for added shape and visibility.

6. Eyelashes: For older children ready for semi-professional makeup, false eyelashes can be used to enhance the eyes. Alternatively, mascara is a good option if false lashes aren’t suitable for your child.

Properly applied stage makeup will help showcase your child’s amazing features and ensure their expressions shine through under the lights!

Hair

For our concert, having securely styled hair is crucial to ensure dancers remain focused and confident on stage. Hair that falls out or fly-aways can be distracting, causing dancers to touch their hair instead of fully enjoying their performance. Here’s how to prepare your child’s hair for the show:

1. Centre Part: Begin by parting the hair down the middle.

2. Ponytail: Secure the hair at the lower section of the skull in a tight ponytail.

3. Bobby Pins: Pin back all fringe or layered hair to make the ponytail slick and tight.

4. Bun: Twist the hair into a bun or use a bun donut if needed for extra volume. Secure tightly with a hair tie.

5. Hair Net: Wrap a hair net around the bun to keep it in place.

6. Bun Pins: Use bun pins all around the bun to secure both the hair and net.

7. Hairspray: Apply plenty of hairspray to hold everything in place and prevent any hair from coming loose.

Remember, you’ll need bobby pins, a hair net, and bun pins. Without these, buns often fall out during performances, which can be upsetting for dancers. Let’s ensure your child has the best experience possible by taking these steps to help them feel confident and enjoy their time on stage!
