Comp Team Reminders

Encore Competition Team Families,

Our very first competition of the year is almost here, and we couldn't be prouder of every single one of our Competition Team students. The dedication, teamwork and determination they've shown throughout the term has been incredible, and we can't wait to watch them perform on stage!

We would also like to congratulate all of our competition students for being wonderful role models within the studio. We love seeing students arrive with their hair neatly tied back, encouraging our recreational dancers and building friendships across all of our teams. This is exactly what the Encore Family is all about!

Competition Dates

🎭 Light Up the Stage

Monday 6 July 2026 Suncoast Events Centre, Woombye

Please arrive already dressed in costume with full hair and makeup completed. Students should wear their Encore jacket or hoodie over their costume until it is time to perform.

Once everyone has arrived, teachers will mark the roll, warm up routines and prepare students backstage.

Awards & Improvisation Challenge: Approximately 5:10pm

Students are welcome to stay for the awards presentation and improvisation challenge; however, this is completely optional if you have already performed. Please note it is a lot of sitting and waiting during presentations and we will post our results!

Please note: There is no spectator entry fee for this event. Competitor fees have already been covered and will appear on your Term 3 invoice, so we encourage you to invite family and friends to come along and cheer on all of our dancers!

Hair & Makeup Requirements

Hair and makeup for competitions is exactly the same as our annual concert.

Makeup

• Red lipstick

• Bright red blush

• Dark brown eyeshadow

• False eyelashes

• Low bun

• Plenty of hairspray

• Bobby pins

• Bun pins

• Most importantly: a bun net to ensure the bun stays neat, secure and performance-ready.
